Young People’s Sunday Activities

At All Saints’ we welcome young and old to all our services, no matter how young or how old!

Creche

At the 9.30 am each Sunday morning during term-time, we have a separate Crèche for babies and pre-schoolers; a primary-aged group called Kingfishers and a teenage group called Heaven.  The only way to join is to turn up!  We are a friendly, welcoming bunch and EVERYONE is welcome and included.  All our leaders are CRB Checked and there is no yearly subscription, merely a Medical Form that is required as part of our Child Protection Policy.

Kingfishers

Kingfishers are for children when they start nursery/pre-school to the end of their Primary Education.

Kingfishers are bright and bubbly birds, just like the children who come on a Sunday morning.  They are eager to ‘fish’ to help them learn more about God and Jesus in a fun way.  Each child is encouraged to ‘dive in’ and contribute to all parts of the worship time and further craft/activity time.

Heaven

Heaven is aimed at Year 7 Teenagers +.  Here the youngsters are not only expected to contribute but to actually help formulate the activities that they will participate in; from drama to fund-raising for charities – the list is as long as their imaginations. Recent events have included charity bike rides, drama presentations celebrating 400th anniversary of King James Bible and taking part in the Harvest Festival

All children

Each Sunday all three sections joins in the service and all are encouraged to go forward for a Blessing at Communion until they are ready for Confirmation when they can receive Communion for themselves.

On special Sundays, the young people participate by singing, saying the prayers and/or presenting a small piece of drama. They may also read one of the scripture readings at the Parish Eucharist.

The contributions that the youngsters have made to the life of All Saints’ Church have enhanced the worship and everyone, no matter how young, is welcomed into the family.
